Another participant from men’s seniors list! This time, it’s our old Swiss friend that is visiting us regularly and already feels in Zagreb like at second home. If you wonder what makes BHV Wasserschloss feel they want to go back to Zagreb and what are their expectations this year, below you can find few words from Wasserschloss’ coach and active beach handball delegate Marco Bodmer:
Tell us few words about your club. When did you start with beach handball and what are your main goals, successes so far.
We started to play beachhandball in 1997 and founded our club (Beachhandball-Verein Wassserschloss) in 2009. We want to share and develop beachhandball among handball players in our region and invite also other people to start with it. We especially want to teach young male and female players the spirit and the skills of this sport. We already got several Swiss champion titles in youth and senior categories, thats why we regularly participate on international championships or events like ebt-finals or champions cup.
You have already participated quite a few times in Jarun Cup. Can you please share with us your opinion on the tournament then? What do you expect this year and how was it the previous years?
For us Croatian beach handball was always a leading star we tried to come nearer. The level of the Jarun Cup is very high and we can improve a lot playing against these greatly experienced teams. The weather was every time very cold and even wet sometimes, what we didn’t expect… but this will never kill the Swiss.
Please introduce your main beach handball project(s) you plan to participate in this season.
With the youth team under 18 (better known under the last year name Zagreb Beach Hrvatska) we are qualified for the EBT finals and will also participate on different tournaments like Gaeta, Camelot, Salgo… We already played in Herleen (NL) in December and we want to improve more and more to have good performance in Montenegro at European Youth Championships.
