With the Jarun Cup 2026 now underway. we take a look at some of the numbers involved in the festival of beach handball.
1 – 1st May: the Jarun Cup always includes the Croatian public holiday of ‘Labour Day’
5 – Age groups of competition: senior, 2008, 2010, 2012 and veterans playing across five days of play
6 – Courts of action – two new courts have been added for the 2026 edition
11 – Different men’s and women’s events: IHF Men’s and Women’s Beach Handball Global Tour, men’s and women’s senior, men’s and women’s 2008, men’s and women’s 2010, men’s and women’s 2012 and veterans
13 – European nations involved in the senior club competitions (Croatia, Denmark, Hungary, Netherlands, Slovakia, Poland, Ireland, Spain, Sweden, Portugal, Denmark, Great Britain and Norway)
15 – EHF Delegates involved
18 – The Jarun Cup 2026 is the 18th edition of the competition, which started in 2008
22 – For the first time, games will be played at 22:00hrs (10pm)
39 – Referees, including 25 EHF badge-holders
56 – Men’s and women’s senior club teams in total, 28 in each competition – the most ever
90 – Volunteers and staff working hard for the event to function
102 – Teams competing on the sand at Lake Jarun: 8 national teams and 94 club sides

381 – Total games will be played – 101 more than last year
